16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children

Ullovu Secondary School joins the national campaign to end Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). This year, the campaign runs from 25 November to 10 December 2025 under the theme:
“Letsema: Men, Women, Boys and Girls working together to end Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF)”
The campaign marks its 27th anniversary, raising awareness about the devastating impact of GBVF on women, children, and society. It also highlights the societal and systemic causes of gender-based violence and mobilizes action to create safer communities.
Other commemorative days during this period:
1 December: World AIDS Day
3 December: International Day for Persons with Disabilities
How Our Community Can Take Action
Ullovu encourages all learners, parents, and staff to participate in the campaign by:
Being an activist against GBV: Challenge cultural practices that perpetuate inequality and abuse.
Rejecting and reporting abuse: Do not protect abusers – take action and speak up.
Supporting victims: Be sensitive, share helpful information, and support GBV initiatives.
Promoting gender equality: Teach children values of respect and equality.
Protecting children online: Monitor and prevent exposure to harmful content, including sexual material.
Personal growth: Seek help to change harmful behaviors like substance abuse.
Creating safer spaces: Develop policies and organize dialogues in schools, workplaces, and communities to address GBVF.
Together, we can make a difference. Let’s support the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children and work towards a safer, equal, and more caring society.
